Over the weekend, Jim Crown, who was the owner and managing partner of the Aspen Skiing Company, passed away following a crash at the Aspen Motorsports Park. Condolences have been given by many from across the world, including former President Barack Obama.

Yesterday, President Obama released a statement regarding the death of Jim Crown. Barack originally knew Jim from his work in Chicago as a civic leader and major voice in the Jewish community. In Jim’s final weeks, he was creating a new jobs program that will help young people out in Chicago. The two met up in Aspen multiple times, introducing Obama’s daughters to the famous Colorado town.

It’s pretty cool to hear that the Obamas have visited Aspen quite a bit. President Biden has made his fair share of visits to Colorado as well, including at Snowmass.

Barack Obama’s official statement is below.
