A fictional drama series about a down-on-her-luck ski racer is coming to Prime Video. Last week, Deadline announced that a new show based on ski town life is going to be made by Amazon Studios. Called Teton, the show’s setting will be Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Here’s a description of the show from Deadline:

“[The show] will follow Kick Taylor – a ski racing phenom – who returns to her hometown to contend with the emotional meltdown she had on tour, the ramifications of her mother’s death and the family and friends she left behind in her pursuit of gold.

As Kick struggles to find her footing, she and her tight knit mountain community – made up of a group of eccentric but lovable locals and powder hounds – fight to hold on to what makes this the most special place on earth all while catering to the wealthiest people in the world.

There will be epic skiing, envy-inducing real estate, apres ski cocktails, cozy nights around a fire, a moose encounter or two and high stakes drama as Kick reckons with whether it is possible to ‘go big AND go home.’”

The show is being made by Amy B. HarrisJason Reilly, and Cameron Duddy. Harris was the executive producer and showrunner for The Wilds, which aired on Prime Video for two seasons. She also was a producer for Sex and the City, and its prequel show: The Carrie Diaries. Reilly was a director for episodes of The Carrie Diaries, Fetching, Jane The Virgin, and Two Broke Girls. The concept of the show comes from Cameron Duddy, who is a Grammy-nominated country musician.

In terms of when this will get released, this is when things get interesting. This news from Deadline came from last week. This week, over eleven thousand Hollywood writers went on strike against the studios, which includes Amazon. It’s unclear if the development of Teton was affected. This means that it could be a while before this actually comes out, depending on how long the strike is.

No release date was part of the initial announcement, but when it does come out, it’ll be on Prime Video.
