The 2023-24 season is shaping up to be the best season ever for the Middlebury Snow Bowl in Vermont. The Vermont ski area wrapped up its season on April 8th and is now preparing for two major additions that will open next winter.
The first addition will be the replacement of the Sheehan chairlift with a fixed-grip quad from SkyTrac. The lift will have approximately 44 chairs, increasing the uphill capacity by 20% compared to its predecessor. Additional chairs could be added in the future. According to Middlebury Snow Bowl, the chairlift will have a ride time of around six minutes. The chairlift services beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain.
The new chairlift is the key to a new experience at the Snowbowl. Night skiing will be added to the Middlebury Snowbowl, with the lights being on the trails around the Sheehan chairlift. The trails that will have night skiing are Lang, Cameron, and Kelton, which are highlighted in the photo above. This will make Middlebury one of the few ski areas in Vermont to offer night skiing and provide college students and the local community with a place to shred at night.
