Van life is an ever popular lifestyle, whether by necessity or by choice. It allows individuals to essentially live rent free with little ties to a physically location, making it a great way to see the glory of this country. A huge difficulty, though, is finding a place to park overnight. Some parking lots will allow you to sleep in your car, but many towns and locations have strict camping bans, keeping you on the road rather than peacefully sleeping.

How does one go about dodging these bans? Make it impossible to tell that someone is sleeping in the van, of course!

Stories From A Van lived in this stealth camper van for a year, parking anywhere and everywhere throughout San Francisco. Honestly, this little van looks pretty darn comfortable, and it really seems like there’s plenty of space for most people.

It does push one to question the ethics of such a build, though. Do those bans exist for a reason? Is it really fair to be sleeping in your van outside of people’s homes without them knowing?

Personally, as long as you aren’t making a mess and can arrive, sleep, hang out, and leave without anyone really knowing, there’s nothing wrong with it, but that’s just my opinion.
