Another Lake Tahoe ski resort has extended its season.
2News reports that Diamond Peak Ski Resort in Incline Village, Nevada announced that they will be extending their season to May 1st. Making it to May is extremely rare for Diamond Peak, as this will only be the second time that they’ve been able to pull this off. The first time happened during the 1966/67 season, which was their first year of operations.
Nikki Peterem, who is a Bartender at the Snowflake Lodge, described her reaction to the season extension:
“I am so pumped! It has been such a great season with never ending snow, lots of fresh pow pow getting the shred on! We are a community owned ski resort, so the money we make here at Diamond Peak goes back into the community, Incline Village and Crystal Bay.”
Diamond Peak has received 404 inches of snow so far this winter, making it possible that they reach 500″ by May.
