After years of waiting, Colorado’s famous Casa Bonita restaurant is planning to reopen under new owners this May. In case you haven’t heard any of the news relating to the Mexican restaurant, those new owners are Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of the much loved South Park television series. Back in November of 2021, it was reveled that three-time James Beard-nominated chef Dana Rodriguez will be running the restaurant’s kitchen, meaning the food, which was once notoriously terrible, may be quite delicious. Now, however, Casa Bonita is looking to fill 500 positions, including divers.

That’s right, I said divers. If you’re already familiar with the restaurant, then you’re probably familiar with the dive pool located inside, but, if you’re not… well, yeah, there’s a dive pool inside, and people are actively diving while you’re enjoying your meal. Divers are required to have at least two years of diving experience in school, clubs, or a competitive level, submitting a five-minute video clip demonstrating their diving skills. If hired, they’ll be expected to dive off platforms from 16-25 feet, performing front flips, back flips, inward dives, and variations on all of them. Pay for divers ranges between $21-$25 an hour.

The restaurant, of course, is hiring for a ton of other positions, including other forms of entertainment, front-of-house (bartending, food running, hosting, etc), back-of-house (kitchen work: cook, cook assistance, dishwasher, etc), and security. If you’re interested in applying for any position, you can head over to this website. Once again, Casa Bonita is set to open in May, just a few months from now. I’m yet to visit the famous restaurant but I’ve wanted to make the trip since moving to Colorado, and you can bet your bottom that I’ll be there as soon as I possibly can.
