Park City's Colby Stevenson Wins X Games Gold In Slopestyle

By

It was a snowy weekend in Aspen for the X Games, but many still brought their A-game to the events and landed some impressive tricks. Colby Stevenson, who took the Silver in the Big Air event during the 2022 Olympics, was back on the podium for the 2023 X Games.

Colby went off in the Jeep Men’s Ski Slopestyle, winning gold in the competition. American Mac Forehand (who won the Big Air competition on Sunday) won the Silver, while Norweigan Ferdinand Dahl got the Bronze. A video of Colby’s winning run is down below.

Colby Stevenson’s skiing career has been a remarkable journey. Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Colby got his first pair of skis before he was two years old. He eventually moved out to Park City, where he was able to hone in on his craft. His career was derailed in 2016 when he was in a major car accident, which left him with brain damage. Doctors gave him a slim chance of returning to competition, but Colby persevered and has become one of the best freestyle skiers on the planet.
