Everyone loves a good whacky corporate vehicle. Oscar Meyer has the Wienermobile, Planters has the Nutmobile, and L.L. Bean has the Bootmobile. I’ll tell ya, as someone who grew up right near the L.L. Bean flagship store in Maine, seeing the Bootmobile at our local ski resort was always an exciting experience, and every time I make my way home for the holidays, I make sure to stop by the giant boot in Freeport.

I don’t know what, exactly, it is, but something about giant products is just fun. So, when I saw that Vans decided to turn their Sk8-Hi MTE-3 shoes into a pair of matching vehicles (vans, as one might say), I got pretty excited.

As of now, there’s very little information available surrounding the vanmobiles (that’s not what they’re officially called, but that’s what I’m going to call them). One can only hope that, like their fellow giant products on wheels, they’ll hit the road and tour the United States. But, for now, we can at least enjoy this beautiful video of the shoes walking through the streets of New York.

And who knows! Maybe one day I’ll be enjoying an espresso in a small café in Denver, maybe doing some writing, and I’ll see one of these amazing shoe-cars drive by. Only time will tell.
