Denver, Colorado — At 5-2, the Denver Broncos enter this weekend’s matchup against the 5-1 Kansas City Chiefs in a critical spot. They’ve seen inconsistent QB play and a lackluster offense despite coming off an AFC Championship appearance. Perhaps the season’s weirdness is best captured by a promotional poster that features a place thousands of miles away.
To promote Sunday’s rivalry matchup, the Broncos shared a foliage-themed promo that shows Empower Field at Mile High stadium in the middle of *checks notes* Franconia Notch State Park?
Yes, the New Hampshire ski area is featured in the Broncos promotional photo. It appears to be a photo of Cannon Mountain and Franconia Notch State Park, likely from the vantage of Artists Point.
Cannon Mountain saw this and called on the Patriots to use Arapahoe Basin in its next promotional photo. The Pats, which represent the region Cannon is situated in, beat the Broncos in last season’s AFC Championship.

The irony is that Colorado has plenty of beautiful foliage locations. With the majestic backdrops of Western Colorado, finding a Colorado fall backdrop seems relatively easy. Would it be as good as Franconia Notch? Probably not, but there are some Kodak-moment-worthy spots.
Ultimately, I don’t think the Broncos’ social media person has visited Western Colorado yet.
