Boyne Mountain, MI has officially announced that the Midwest’s first eight-person chairlift will open for guests on Friday, December 23rd.
The Disciples 8 chairlift replaces two fixed-grip chairlifts that were notorious for being extremely slow. The ride time will be a brisk “3.16 minutes”.
The new chairlift joins the eight-person chairlifts installed by Boyne Resorts at Big Sky, MT, Loon Mountain, NH, and Sunday River, ME.

The new lift will dramatically improve Boyne’s uphill capacity, but will that cause overcrowding on the trails?
