Boyne Mountain Resort’s Renaissance 2.0 master plan is well underway, with the Disciples 8 chairlift nearing completion. Yesterday, Boyne announced two more lift replacements that are coming during the 2023-2024 season.

The Boyneland triple chairlift will be replaced by a new Doppelmayr fixed-grip quad. This lift is the gateway to the new Disciples 8 chairlift, which will become their marquee lift when it opens. The new lift will increase its capacity and have a ride time of under four minutes, which is half of the current ride time of Boyneland.

Other features will be easier access in its base area by being 120 feet uphill of the Waffle Cabin, a child/adaptive-friendly loading carpet that’s height-adjustable, and a longer load time.

The second replacement is the Superbowl lift. This will become a Doppelmayr triple chairlift and will be the fastest fixed-grip lift in the Midwest. The chairlift will have a loading carpet, its base terminal will be located downward for easier loading access, and its top terminals is located downward as well for a better unloading experience. Both lifts will include RFID gates so that guests don’t have to reach into their pockets and grab their passes.

Stephen Kircher, who is the President and CEO of Boyne Resorts, said the following about the planned additions:

“Skiing is in our DNA, and with that passion, we think like skiers, and we think about what we would want, and what our customers want, and that is what’s driving forward our plans for the Midwest’s most advanced lift infrastructure at Boyne Mountain with the goal of raising the whole experience.

Thinking long-term is one of our core values, and that’s what we are doing with our lift planning and Renaissance 2.0 projects – thinking not just 20 years down the road, but 50 and beyond – and the benefits to our customers now and into the future.”

Boyne Resorts has been spending a huge amount of money on its properties lately, and I’m curious to see what Boyne Mountain Resort adds in the coming years.
