Arapahoe Basin Ski Area claimed the highly-desired title as the first ski area in Colorado to open when they spun the Black Mountain Express lift on Sunday, October 23rd.

The mountain has been operating daily with just one trail open- High Noon, but thanks to an early-season snow storm, A-Basin will double their trail count on Saturday, October 29.

The ski area announced yesterday that Ramrod, a Blue Square-rated trail, will open for the season.

The mountain is reporting 7″  of new snow over the last 3 days.

It’s still really early (obviously), but A-Basin being able to open more terrain is a good sign. Here’s hoping it keeps on snowing and that trail count continues to rise!
