May be an image of ski slope, snow and nature

Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna, BC is delaying their summer season due to too much snow left on the mountain.

Yeah, it’s June 22nd and a Canadian ski resort is struggling to open for the summer because of the remaining snow pack at higher elevations.

Crazy, right?

Big White will now (hopefully) open for summer operations on Thursday, July 7th. Check out the full Facebook post below.

I’m sure some mountain bikers and hikers are bumming that the snow won’t melt, but I’d take a lingering snowpack over dry and hot any year.

Here’s to hoping Big White can get the summer underway in a couple of weeks!
