Magic Mountain Ski Area (Vermont) surprised the entire country when they opened for skiing and riding on June 4th, 2022. Offering snow sliding this late in the year is something completely unheard of for Southern Vermont.
Now, I should be clear, Magic didn’t start spinning lifts, but guests were able to shred a giant snow patch during a fundraiser event. That has to count for something, right?!

Magic was hosting a fundraiser event for West River Sports that looked like an absolute blast. Sunshine, live music, beer, food, and a bunch of crazy people throwing tricks on a slushy patch of snow surrounded by green grass.
Can we get some more ski areas to do this, please? It can’t be too hard, right?
It looks like Magic just pushed a huge pile of remaining snow together and covered it with a giant tarp. Then they used a groomer to spread out the goods for folks to enjoy.
