Alta Ski Trail Maps | Ski City

Alta Ski Area called it a season yesterday, April 24th. The iconic ski area was open for one final bonus weekend, and skiers enjoyed “some of the best conditions of the season”.

January, February, and most of March were practically bone-dry across Utah, but mother nature delivered the goods at the end of the season. Alta racked up 31 inches from a storm that hit late last week.

Skiers are surely frustrated that the lifts are closed for the season considering all of the fresh snow, but Alta is forced to close based on their agreement with the US Forest Service. Bummer, right?

Here’s to the Alta faithful for sticking out a difficult season. Your perseverance to ski hard-pack, sunbaked snow throughout the middle of the season paid off.

The photos and videos from the skiing over the last few days tells you all that you need to know. Feel free to send any of your photos and videos from the final closing weekend at Alta Ski Area on over to me.
