May be an image of nature and ski slopeBig Sky Resort’s newest lift has been a big hit with guests. The Swift Current Six, which opened on Thanksgiving, replaced the prior high-speed quad and gives the ski resort its fourth bubble lift. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle detailed the importance of this new lift to Big Sky Resorts’ guest experience. Some of the features of the lift include headsets, heated seats, a blue-tinted glass cover that serves as the bubble, and pictures of local wildlife are displayed on the back of the chairs. The lift goes up 8555 feet, and goes about 1200 feet per minute, reaching speeds of fourteen miles per hour. The lift goes over some intermediate runs and one of their terrain parks. When you reach the top of the lift, Swift Current Six services most of the terrain on the mountain, including Lone Peak.

The replacement follows Big Sky’s push to have one of the most technologically advanced lift systems on the planet by 2025, with the Powder Seeker high-speed six-pack replacing Challenger lift and Lone Peak Triple in 2016, along with Ramcharger eight-person bubble chairlift that opened in 2018.Swift Current 6 Youtuber Northeast Coasters, Trains, and Skiing did a video of the ride up the new lift, which you can watch below…
