Well, I feel like a lazy piece of crap after watching this video.
Josua Wechsler fulfilled his dream of riding a SUP from Switzerland to the Netherlands last year, and made a short film about his remarkable journey. Wechsler built the board himself and rode it 950 km (590 mi) over 27 days last summer.
I say I feel like a lazy piece of crap because I complain after jogging three miles in the summer heat. Meanwhile this superhuman steadily paddled up and down rivers for almost an entire month…unreal!
I loved how the video didn’t have any kind of cheesy background music or effects. It was simply just footage with some text overlay to show his soul searching journey through the heart of Europe.
Josua Wechsler:Â “Years ago I had the dream to paddle on a SUP from Switzerland to the Netherlands. Always when I was close to realize this idea, something came in between. Corona changed many plans, so it was time to pick up this old dream. In April 2020 I started building a wooden SUP in my workspace in the Netherlands. In the beginning of August 2020 my journey from Switzerland to the Netherlands could finally start.
This film gives you an impression of the building process of my wood SUP and the 27 days of expedition trough Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands (950km).”Â
