Couloirs can be a ton of fun in the backcountry, but without regular avalanche mitigation from ski patrol or another entity, they can be extremely dangerous.
Jackson Hole Outdoor Leadership Institute shared this quick video of how to defensively cut above a couloir to release a loose snow avalanche should one be possible.
