It is being reported that the Town Council of Jackson, WY has unanimously approved a new gondola for Snow King Resort.

The gondola will not only increase uphill capacity at Snow King but will also allow for more comfortable night skiing on frigid evenings.

The gondola’s loading plaza will be situated in the footprint of the existing Cougar lift in Phil Baux Park. The ski hill will pay the town $3,000 per month to lease the land from the town of Jackson. The Cougar lift would be moved 250 feet further uphill.

Snow King’s GM Ryan Stanley told Buckrail.com, “We believe [the gondola], along with others proposed on the mountain, will help ensure the viability of Wyoming’s oldest ski area for decades to come.”
