If you live in the Twin Falls area, I highly suggest you take advantage of the free avalanche safety courses offered this Friday and Saturday by The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation.

Friday’s instruction will be held at Action Cycles ‘N Sleds in Twin Falls, followed bya  trip into the mountains Saturday to discuss snow science and preform multiple companion rescue scenarios. You do not have to attend Friday nights class in order to participate Saturday. If you are interested in attending give Action Cycles ‘N Sleds @ (208) 736-8118.

“I mean everyone in Idaho recreates in avalanche terrain. Once you leave the parking lot you’re in avalanche terrain, so everybody needs to have good travel skills, you know without good backcountry decisions, errors get made quickly, errors turn in to incidents, incidents turn into fatalities.” -Course Instructor Rich Gummersall
