Snow! Snow! Snow! A prolonged snow event will deliver feet of snow to the Rocky Mountains over the next few days. Steamboat will be getting a big helping of snow as two systems move into the area through Monday. The area is under a Winter Storm Warning that will last until Friday.

Hazardous Weather Outlook

A prolonged snow event has begun and will continue through Saturday morning with the northern and central valleys and mountains seeing significant snowfall accumulations. Upwards of 3 feet are possible over the northern mountains while the central mountains may see up to 2 feet of snow. Valleys will see between 5 to 10 inches. Many advisories and winter storm warnings have been issued.

Snow continues through Saturday morning before finally coming to an end. However, another wave will bring another round of quick snow Saturday night through Monday morning as it spreads from north to south. Accumulations, at the moment, look to be in the 2 to 5 inch range. – NOAA

Tonight: Snow showers. Low around 19. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Friday: Snow showers. High near 32. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Friday Night: Snow showers likely, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph decreasing to 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of snow showers after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 38. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturday Night: Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 9. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
