“uberSKI connects riders with an AWD, ski rack-equipped vehicle at the same great price as uberX and uberXL. Split the fare if you’re sharing a ride, and shred the greatest snow on earth. No parking, no hassle, just powder.”

Great news for folks looking to get to the ski hill but don’t have a car and for those that have a car with a ski rack or sufficient cargo space and are looking to make some side cash.

The ride-sharing giant is rolling out an Uber Ski feature that ensures your driver will either a roof rack or enough room in back to accommodate your skis and snowboards. Engadget reports there will be a surcharge for the service but will allow users to skip the hassle and expense of renting a car.
Drivers will have to provide proof that they qualify but will be incentivized with a “significant portion” of that surcharge in addition to their usual cut.  Uber Ski will roll out on December 17th in 23 cities and regions, including places like Colorado, Utah and Vermont.
