Castle Mountain Resort is looking to be the winner of this week’s historic snowfall. While ski resorts from Kirkwood, CA to Revelstoke, BC got snow over the past few days, no other ski resort seems to have gotten more snow than Castle.
You may be tempted to venture out for some turns today but please remember there is no mountain patrol available and many man-made hazards that exist on the mountain which may not usually be there in the winter (unpadded hydrants, summer hiking signage, construction equipment, etc.).
It’s unclear exactly how much snow the resort picked up over the past few days, but the mid-mountain snow stake was at 80 cm mark during the storm with 20 – 40 cm’s more on the way.
