Ski Land in Alaska claims to have “The farthest north chairlift in North America.” The resort is about 20 miles north of Fairbanks, AK.
The resort only operates on Saturday and Sunday during the winter season. Ski Land’s season typically lasts from early December to mid April.
A huge benefit of Ski Land’s location is the ability to see the Aurora. The resort offers Aurora Viewing from October 1st-mid April seven nights a week. Typically the Aurora can be viewed between 9pm-3am. The picture below is jaw-dropping… Can’t believe it’s real!
Vertical Drop: 1027 ft.
Number of Lifts: 2 (One chair, one magic carpet)
Number of Trails: 40
Skiable Acreage: 100 acres
Summit Elevation: 2435 ft.
Last week I covered Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley, located outside of Tucson, AZ as the southernmost ski resorts in North America.
