A BASE jumper appears to have been arrested after leaping off an under-construction building in downtown Denver, Colorado. Information on the incident is extremely limited at this time, based solely on eyewitness accounts. u/Thedemonazrael751 shared footage from the incident to Reddit, explaining that he was working on the building at the time of the jump.
The BASE jumper crashed pretty hard, with some commenters saying that he likely broke his ankles and was taken into police custody. The incident occurred last month with the jump being done after 3pm, though it was still clearly day time (an apparent faux pas in the BASE jumping community when it comes to jumping in cities).
A report from another Reddit user (u/Janus9) stated that the jump took place around Broadway and 19th/Glenarm off a high rise condo building currently under construction. No further information on the incident is available at this time.
Whether or not BASE jumping itself is outlawed in Denver is unclear, but this individual was absolutely trespassing on a construction site. Additional laws that are frequently broken when BASE jumping in a city include those related to breaking-and-entering or reckless endangerment.
