A hiker in South Dakota’s Hanson-Larsen Memorial Park whipped out his phone and gave a mountain lion a decidedly nonchalant“Hey Kitty Kitty” as they crossed paths in the dead of night. KEVN reports the man behind the camera, Jared Carstens, has seen tracks at least 10 times just this year on the trails of the park located in the heart of Rapid City. South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks officer Chris Decker says if you encounter a lion you should make yourself look at big as possible, yell and if you can, throw something at it.
