A 72 year old woman from Idaho was injured by a bison in Yellowstone National Park on Tuesday, May 1. KULR8 reports Virginia Junk of Boise, Idaho was butted in the thigh by the bison in the Old Faithful Geyer area. The impact pushed her off the trail.

Junk reportedly didn’t sense the animal was near until it hit her. Junk was treated for minor injuries by park rangers and then transported to a hospital in Idaho. No citations were issued.

This is the first time in 2018 that a bison has injured a visitor.  Yellowstone wants to remind visitors that all the animals are wild and visitors are urged to stay at least 100 yards away from bears and wolves and at least 25 yards away from all other animals.
