A child who fell from a chairlift onto a busy road at Big White Ski Resort is thankfully okay. The accident occurred off the plaza chair on Wednesday.

Castanet.net is reporting that a six-year-old boy from Abbotsford was riding with his grandmother when he fell about 16 feet onto Big White Road, near where it enters the village.

Resort vice-president Michael Ballingall says the grandmother lifted the restraining bar early as the chairlift crossed the road, and the boy slipped off the chair.

The boy reportedly suffered some lacerations on his face but was otherwise uninjured. Ballingall happily reported that the boy was  “back on the hill.”
