Jamie Anderson is a back-to-back olympic gold medalist in the women’s slope-style. The 27 year-old from South Lake Tahoe battled stiff competition through horrendous winds to win the event.

Meanwhile the press and some athletes say that Olympic officials should have shut down the event altogether due to the inclement weather. USA Today is reporting that only 5 of the 25 riders successfully finished their initial runs in the windstorm, whose gusts measured in excess of 20+mph at certain points in the morning.

But through all the meteorological curveballs, Anderson held steady, winning the event and taking home her second Olympic gold in slope-stlyle.
