This skier triggered avalanche was released October 3rd in Sacajawea Bowl in Southwest Montana. The slope was 47 degrees steep (!), NE aspect and the crown was 40 cm thick out of 115cm total snow depth. It may be early October but avalanches can happen at any point in the season so please use caution while in the backcountry and KNOW BEFORE YOU GO.
