This time, the Grizzly killed 40+ sheep over Memorial Day Weekend at a ranch near Valier, Montana. The last time the Grizzly went on a similiar killing spree was just a year prior, when the bear claimed nearly 10 sheep in the same area. That attack forced rangers with Montana Fish and Wildlife to tranquilize and relocate the bear to an area near the North Fork of the Flathead River. However, it appears as though the bear has since returned with sheep’s blood on its mind.

Currently, wildlife officials are determining whether or not the bear should be euthanized. Normally, a bear is awarded three offenses before being euthanized but this bear is proving to be exceptionally violent bear towards sheep. That tendency and previous history of attacks on livestock could make it a prime candidate for termination.
