Buying a last-minute plane ticket at the airport ticket counter is a rough look. Either the person buying the ticket is drunk, recovering from being drunk, or about to get drunk– really drunk.
Turns out a 21 year-old Vermonter was drunk when he arrived at the Jackson Hole Airport on Wednesday, bought a plane ticket, and boarded an aircraft bound for Boston. However, how he got to the airport is a different story altogether.
According to the JH News and Guide, Quinn McElwain had gotten into an argument with friends at the Elk Country Inn when he felt the urgent need to leave. So without a ride to the airport, the drunk 21 year-old stole a pizza delivery car, drove drunk to the airport, and made his boozy getaway. The car in question was running unattended when McElwain decided that the car was his way out of Jackson.
Unfortunately, the owner of the Toyota RAV-4 pizza mobile wasn’t so stoked to find the car gone.
Shortly after, the owner of the vehicle reported the car stolen. In a separate report, McElwain’s friends also told police their friend was missing. Once both reports were made, the police surmised that McElwain was to blame in the apprehension of the vehicle.

After this realization, the Jackson police proceeded to contact authorities at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. However, the suspect avoided the authorities and ultimately he caught the final leg of his flight home.
The next morning, Jackson Police drove the owner of the car to the Jackson Hole airport, where they found the car and all interior possessions as they were prior to the theft. As of now, McElwain could face charges for unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Whatever the case, this kid has definitely got some Frank Abagnale in him…
