It has been a great start to the 2015 – 2016 winter for California with the Central Sierra at over 100% of average snowfall for this point in the season. In fact, the amount of land in California covered by snow is twice as much as this time last year.

Much of the state is still under exceptional drought conditions and even a monster second half of the season won’t end the drought, but it sure will help.
