As wildfires rage across the Western United States, it appears as though some relief is finally arriving. With rainstorms at lower elevations and snow above 10,000 ft today, the fall might finally be putting the kabosh on wildfire season and we couldn’t be happier to see some snow on the summit of Mammoth Mountain this morning. Also in the running for an early pow day is Big Sky, who saw snow on the Summit of Lone Peak today.
Although the snow may be scarce, it’s still damn good to see snow in the forecast again…
According to Big Sky Resort’s Facebook page, snow has been pummeling Lone Peak today.
Lone Peak is located at 11,166 feet.
Also, Mammoth’s facebook page is showing that their 11,052 foot summit is currently covered in a nice blanket of the white stuff as well.
