New Tahoe Super Pass Includes Rollover Days

317578736_de9e8a44ed_oIn an attempt to sell more season passes to the skiers in drought-stricken California, Lake Tahoe’s Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows resort is offering up a new deal. They will give you credits of unused days that can be put towards the following season. They are calling it the “worry-free guarantee”.

“Weather happens. Obligations happen. Life happens. If you don’t ski or ride at least 5 days on your 2015-16 Tahoe Super Pass, we will credit you up to 4 days towards your 2016-17 pass.*” –

To get this rollover credit you need to buy your pass by May 7. You may have also noticed the deal only applies to gold and sliver passes and if you ski more than 5 days you get nothing. If you don’t ski at all next season you will get a little more than half your money back. KSL has put up a calculator you can use to see what kind of credit you will get based on how many days you ski.

The the top shelf adult Gold Tahoe Super Pass gets skiers unlimited access to Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, plus four additional days at both Sierra-at-Tahoe and Sugar Bowl, as well as 50-percent off lift tickets at the eight resorts that are part of the Mountain Collective, including Jackson Hole, Alta-Snowbird, and Sun Valley. that pass will set you back $789.

Ski resorts around Tahoe are reeling from another terrible season. A number of resorts, including, Sugar Bowl, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Homewood have already closed for the season due to lack of snow.

Here is the fine print

* Restrictions Apply
The amount of rollover account credit for each unused day (up to 4 days) depends on the type of pass you buy and your age group. Qualifying passholders’ accounts will receive the following credit amount based on pass type and age group for each unused day up to 4 days (Adult Gold: $100/day, Adult Silver: $75/day // Young Adult Gold: $86/day, Young Adult Silver: $64/day // Child Gold: $57/day, Child Silver: $43/day // Senior Gold: $86/day, Senior Silver: $64/day // Super Senior Gold: $57/day, Super Senior Silver: $43/day). You may also refer to the calculation chart in our FAQ here. When you ski your fifth day of the 2015-16 season, the “worry-free” guarantee and its rollover benefit is no longer valid. Only account credit for unused days, up to the fifth day, may be rolled over. The “worry-free guarantee” is only available on 2015-16 Gold and Silver Tahoe Super Passes purchased before May 7, 2015. Days skied with your Gold or Silver Tahoe Super Pass at Sugar Bowl and Sierra-at-Tahoe count toward days skied in 2015-16. However, days skied during spring 2014-15 do not count toward days skied and any paid visits (i.e. you bought a ticket) on any Silver pass blackout dates do not count toward days skied. The account credit may only be used to purchase your 2016-17 season pass before May 1, 2016. No cash value. Your account’s Worry-Free Guarantee credit can be used toward the same pass type purchased or higher before May 1, 2016; credit from a Gold pass can be used toward another Gold Tahoe Super Pass for yourself and Silver credit can be used toward a Silver or Gold Tahoe Super Pass for yourself. Worry-Free Guarantee account credit can only be used toward your own qualifying 2016-17 pass purchase, not anyone else’s pass purchase even if the pass is for your child. The Worry-Free Guarantee rollover account credit expires May 1, 2016.
