Ski resorts in California are having yet another terrible season. Things have gotten so bad that both Dodge Ridge in Pinecrest and Badger Pass in Yosemite National Park have shut down until they get some snow.

In Tahoe, the Tahoe Donner Cross Country trail, announced that it too would be closing down, citing lack of snowfall. Other resorts in CA are holding on by the skin of their teeth. The temperature in Reno hit 66 degrees Fahrenheit on Sunday, tying a 44-year-old record.

To make matters worse, there is nothing but sunshine and high temps in the forecast for the Sierra Nevada.

Tahoe has received only around 70 inches of snowfall this winter.  That’s around 40% of average for this time of the season.
