Red Dog this morning at 8:30am

Seems like every time we get a powder day, it rains the next day.  This past storm is no exception.  What’s really weird is that patrol is bombing the crap outta the mountain.  I can guarantee you that not a single thing is sliding up there today guys.  Wonder why they are bombing today?

It’s been raining in the valley since yesterday evening.  That rain got pretty high up the mountain and it’s currently raining to at least the top of the Headwall chair (about 8,400 ft).

Conditions on the mountain look wet & miserable & sticky.  We are gonna get out there about 11am and letcha know how it is.  Follow us on twitter for live updates:  Unofficial’s Twitter

THE BRIGHT SIDE:

All this sounds pretty bad, right?  Well, it’s not.  When storms come in wet, then progressively get colder, we get the perfect Tahoe snow.  That’s what’s gonna happen with this storm.  That Winter Storm Watch is still in effect.  We are going to see 12-18 inches up high once the snow levels start dropping on Saturday.  Snow levels are forecasted to drop down to 5,500 feet on Saturday.

It’s gonna be good here on Sunday.
