Telluride’s Sheridan Opera House will play host to Greg Stump and two ski film premieres the next few nights.
The highly anticipated and much delayed world premiere of Greg Stump’s documentary Legend of Aahhh’s will screen Friday night and locally made Super Cut: 39 Years of Telluride in Ski Movies will screen tonight. Greg Stump will be at both nights, as well as local legend Scott Kennett and other special guests. The films are $15 each and screen at 8pm.
Super Cut is ‘an epic montage’ of Telluride’s film history and something I can’t wait to see. The following description is from the Sheridan’s website. “This compilation film will feature clips of Telluride ski film footage from a variety of a major films produced throughout the 39 years of resort history. The film, which is being compiled by Telluride local Dean Rolley, will also feature commercials shot in and around the Telluride area.”
Greg Stump’s Legend of Aahhh’s has been years in the making and it’s cool to see Telluride hosting the first screening of the film. The following description of the documentary is also from the Sheridan’s website. “Through a semi-autobiographical approach, Greg explores the history of the ski film and how these films influenced big mountain skiing… and pop culture with the birth of the extreme sports movement following the release of “Blizzard Of Aahhh’s” in 1988.”
