Lenticular clouds (spaceship clouds) are usually a sign that a storm is coming within 24 hours. Keep an eye for these babies in Tahoe this week

Our friend at TahoeWeatherDiscussion.com has just released his latest forecast for the coming storms and it’s lookin’ good.

“Thursday night we could see 20:1 snow ratios or better. So that means 5-10 inches are possible above 8000 ft. where it’s coldest with probably 4-8 inches above 7000 ft. and 2-4 inches at lake level by Friday.” –tahoeweatherdiscussion.com

Blower snow again for Tahoe.  Except this time there is absolutely no base for it to lay upon and we really don’t want blower right now.  We need nasty, wet, sticky snow that will glob onto the mountain like french vanilla ice cream.  We need a storm that will fill all the nooks and crannies and get us a base that we can rely on for the rest of the year.  It’ll come, but when?

“Another weak cold storm looks to drop in for Sunday and another around next Wed.” –tahoeweatherdiscussion.com

It doesn’t look like those storms will have much either.  But, it only takes one storm around here to make it “game on.”  Remember last year?  No?  Lemme jog your memory…

November 21st = Day #2 of the 2010/11 season at Squaw
