Jones Snowboards – The Solution, Gear Review
With decades of freeride experience in big mountains, and many pro model boards with Rossignol under his belt, the obvious next step for Jeremy Jones was to start his own snowboard company; a high end freeride snowboard company at that. The Solution is Jones Boards’ split board model. Aside from coming in two pieces and having different graphics, it’s identical to The Flagship model offered by Jones. Either model is a hard charging, freeriding machine. The Solution solves many problems often experienced with other split boards. It has Mervin MFG’s Magnatraction not only on the outside edges, but also on the inside edges for improved side-hilling edge-ability. It’s cutting edge freeride shape, consisting of a mellow camber in between the feet and a mellow rocker on the tip and tail, is a much more fun and lively ride than a traditional split board (focused more on the ascent) or one that has been hand made (hand made boards are often dead, and only lose more snap as you use them). This top of the line split board will be selling this Fall for only $799; pretty reasonable compared to some of the other splits on the market.
