New Hampshire — While the west is struggling through a bleak winter, it’s been basically the exact opposite in the Northeast.
In New Hampshire, consistent cold temperatures and a modest amount of snowfall have led ski resorts to have all or most of their terrain open.
WMUR traveled to Gunstock Mountain Resort to check in with guests and ski resort officials to see how things are going. This is also helping out local businesses situated near the mountains, such as Ellacoya Barn & Grille.
According to Ski NH, skier visits are up 11% compared to last winter, which was also considered to be a strong season for the state. Presidents’ Day weekend saw 29% more visitors compared to last winter. Ultimately, it features some of the best numbers for NH’s ski industry since the 2014-15 season.
What a stellar season for New Hampshire. Surely we’ll finish with a strong March! *Checks 10-day forecast*… dammit.
