There are a lot of mountains that you’ll probably never summit, many of which are just very difficult or expensive to climb, but you can usually still visit their bases or get a good view of them from the distance. When we’re talking remote and little-seen mountains, the list looks a little different. Curiosity Dude took a look at several mountains that you’ll probably never see in your life.

His list includes mountains known primarily through maps and satellite imagery, with some brief scientific trips reaching a few of them. Papua New Guinea’s Mount Kabangama saw it’s first climb only in 2018, while Mount Weiassipu in Guyana was discovered via satellite and first accessed by helicopter. In the Russian Arctic, Mount Kruzenshtern has no confirmed ascents thanks to its long isolation by military restrictions.
