Park City, Utah I’m not quite sure why, but “The Secret Wives of Mormon Wives” is one of the most popular TV shows right now.

The reality show that documents the lives of MomTok influencers (who identify as Mormon) has people buzzing once again after a portion of the second season was recently released. I haven’t watched it yet, as I watched the first season, and I genuinely hate myself for subjecting my brain to that. For skiers and riders, one particular clip from the show’s most recent season is raising eyebrows.

A clip from the show shared by Deer Valley shows Layla talking with a guy at the Black Rock Mountain Resort in Heber. In the clip, they shared a hug, and Layla asked him how his day was. Here was his response:

It was fun. Uh, I’ve never been up here to Deer Valley.”

As Deer Valley expressed in the social media video, there are a few problems with this line. The first is that Deer Valley doesn’t allow snowboarders. The second is that they’re talking at the Black Rock Mountain Resort, which is miles away from the ski resort. The third issue is that Layla’s wearing shorts, while the guy is decked out in winter gear and apparel.

This clip has people wondering whether this scene, and the show in general, was scripted. Reality shows tend to be this way. With Kitchen Nightmares being one of my favorite shows, I’ve slowly come to realize it, like many other reality shows, has lots of scripted moments.

Ultimately, I imagine this damming clip will make it enough so that people stop watching this godforsaken show.
