It looks like The Grass Skiing Worldcup has its own Ted Ligety and his name is Seyed Morteza Jafari. Wait what? That’s right, in the world of Grass skiing it’s Iran not Austria that is dominating the field of this newly FIS sponsored discipline.
On Friday in Iran, the first ever Grass Skiing Worldcup was held on the summery slopes of Dizin Ski Resort and a native of the middle eastern host country brought home gold as well. Jafari won the headline Giant Slalom event with a time of 51.09 seconds while Italian Eduardo Frau brought home the silver with a time of 51.98 reports the Mehr News Agency.
The event was held on August 6-7 in Dizin international ski resort and included competitors from the 5 best grass skiing countries in the world.
