“Everest: The Other Side” follows follows ski mountaineers Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson as they try to fulfill their shared dream of climbing and skiing the North Face of Everest which is considered the most difficult and dangerous climb on the mountain and the most coveted ski line on earth.

Morrisson completed the first ski descent of Mount Everest’s Hornbein Couloir on October 15, 2025, solving what elite ski mountaineers worldwide called “the last great problem.” The feat required five years of logistical planning, three expedition attempts, and a lifetime of preparation. All told Morrison skied an 9,000-foot vertical line from Everest’s summit (29,032 feet), which is widely accepted as the most significant achievement in ski mountaineering history.
The film directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin debuted at the the 83rd Venice International Film Festival and will be only in theaters and IMAX worldwide on October 30, 2026.

Combining breathtaking cinematography with intimate personal storytelling, the film is an epic portrait of ambition, partnership, and the risks people take to achieve the extraordinary.
Elite outdoor adventurers and ski mountaineers Jim Morrison and Hilaree Nelson fell deeply in love while challenging each other to reach the summit of their sport. Their formidable partnership turned into a bold shared goal: to climb and ski the direct north face of Mount Everest, the most dangerous and coveted ski descent on Earth.
