Ski season is still quite a few months away for most people in the United States, but skiers and snowboarders like us are already starting to get excited about the number of days they’ll get on the mountain this winter. We took to Facebook to ask Unofficial Networks readers how many days they hope to ski or snowboard this season, and the responses showed quite a broad range. Everything from just one day to numbers reaching over 200, the responses represent everyone from the casual weekend skier to the year-round committed shredder.

50 Days Is a Common Goal

Around 100 responses provided a clear numerical target, and among those responses, the average was around 59 days. The median response was 50 days, putting half of the numerical responses at or below 50 and half at or above 50. Several people put their number at exactly 50, while others were aiming for 60, 70, 80, or more. One person said they hoped for 70 to 80 days after recording an impressive 95 last season.

The responses also display how both work and geography can shape skiing goals. One Texas skier was aiming for 10 days, 4 of which would come during a planned family ski trip and the additional days coming from weekends in New Mexico. Another commenter said working full time limited their goal to between 40 and 50 days, an impressive number despite working weekdays.

More Than 20 Readers Are Chasing 100 Days

The most hardcore skiers, not so surprisingly, were targeting the triple digits. At least 23 responses mentioned goals of 100 days or more, with some commenters making 100 days a recurring tradition. For one skier, this season would represent their 18th consecutive year with 100 days or more after recording 122 days last season. Another individual was hoping for 100 after a five-year injury recovery.

The highest numerical response was 220 days, a number that is theoretically possible depending on where they’re located (though certainly difficult no matter the case). Another reader wanter 184 days, still seriously impressive.

The Number Is Not Everything

Not every response was focused on a specific number. Plenty of readers mentioned making the most of the days they can get, while one skier pointed out that just one solid day could make the winter. Another person said they just want to ski as much as work and life allow, an absolutely valid goal.

For plenty of us, the perfect season isn’t just measured by a specific number. A season with enough good snow, good health, and opportunities to get outside can be plenty. Nonetheless, judging by these responses, goals for the 2026-2027 winter are quite ambitious. Good luck to all!
