Shoutout to Lake Tahoe based snowboarder Sawyer Mahoney who has managed to go riding at least once for the last 81 consecutive months. That is just shy of 7 years of monthly snowboarding and we love it.

Scoring turns in the middle of winter is simple enough but come June, July, August, the pickings become slimmer and slimmer and it takes hard work and dedication to find the last remaining snow patches to keep the streak alive.

Here’s Mahoney ticking off his month of June snowboarding quota shredding down a sparsely covered couloir with his buddy Philip Miller.

“Might not be dancin’ but it sure feels good! Turns All Year. Month 81.” -Sawyer Mahoney

While Sawyer isn’t a stranger to throwing on a pair of shorts and throwing down some ceremonial summer turns, he like all snowboarders thrives in the winter months. Here a film featuring Sawyer and his buddies Chip Snyder and Justin Mullen showing a side of Tahoe snowboarding that you won’t see everyday:

“A film based out of Lake Tahoe. About three friends, who love to shred. They aren’t the most talented, the most gifted, the most supported, or the smartest. They do their best with what they got. They splitboard their asses off when the mountains are good and when they need their fix they go hit a street spot.”

Cheers to Sawyer on his pursuit of year round snowboarding. 81 months is an incredible accomplishment. Keep up the great work!
