World's only pedal-powered monorail.

New Zealand’s Velocity Valley in Rotorua offers a handful of high-speed thrill attractions, including a ~140 foot freefall drop, a jet boat sprint that reaches around 62 miles per hour, and a gravity defying skydiving experience with wind speeds reaching up to around 135mph.

For us outdoor sports and cycling lovers, the Schweeb Racer catches a bit more of our attention. As the only pedal-powered monorail track in the world, this ride allows you to compete against one other across a few laps of a ~656 foot track, with the speed controlled entirely by your own effort. If strong enough, riders could potentially reach speeds up to 31 miles per hour.

If you’re a cyclist this seems like a great way to show off in front of your friends, hammering the pedals to reach top speed far fast than anyone else. They are regular flat pedals, so that’s something to be aware of for those of us who use clipless and are really desperate for that max wattage, but the novelty of flying through the air on a ~656 foot monorail track seems to beat out the loss. Whatever the case, it seems like it would be a ton of fun.
