Vermont’s Stratton Mountain Resort wrapped up their season back on April 12th, and at this point most snow on the mountain has melted away. With spring in full force on the mountain, the resort gathered a crew of employees to hit the trails and pick up garbage, and man was there a lot of garbage.
The clean-up team found everything from pencils to gloves, headphones, sunglsses, and much more. While there’s plenty of stuff that was certainly dropped on accident (most of the ski gear, for example), there was quite a lot of straight up trash, carelessly left out on the slopes. Vapes, broken ski poles, and a lot of alcohol bottles.
Let this video be a reminder to keep a close eye on your possessions while out in nature, and to never, ever, litter. It’s bad for the environment, it’s bad for the wildlife, and it’s really an ugly sight for other mountain guests.
The winter season is over at Stratton, but there’s plenty of summer activities to be had if you’re planning a trip. The resort offers a bike park, set to open around May 21st, scenic chairlift rides, also set to open around May 21st, golf, and much more.
