ZION NATIONAL PARK, Utah — A hiker died after falling from the Angels Landing Trail at Zion National Park.
Park officials responded to reports of a fall at approximately 2:00pm on Friday. They located a person who had fallen while hiking Angels Landing which is one of the most popular destinations in Zion National Park and requires a permit to access. The area was immediately closed to allow for emergency operations.

Multiple search and rescue crews responded to the incident. Despite the rescue efforts, the hiker died from their injuries. Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim. According to NPS policy, the victim’s identity will be released three days after the family is notified.
